Ticketing & Refund Terms
Effective date: 15 July 2026
Provider: GigPigs Pty Ltd, trading as iD Comedy, Stand Up Sydney and GigPigs, and operator of The Comedy (thecomedy.com.au) and Live Stand Up Comedy (livestandupcomedy.com).
These terms apply when you buy tickets through the GigPigs / Stand Up Sydney / iD Comedy / The Comedy / Live Stand Up Comedy Services or through a ticketing platform we use. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
1. Buying tickets
- Tickets are sold by us or by the event organiser through the Services, and may be fulfilled via third-party ticketing platforms (Humanitix, Eventbrite) or our native ticketing.
- The price shown includes applicable fees before you confirm. Payment is processed by Stripe or CyberSource.
- Your order is confirmed when you receive a confirmation. Keep your ticket/QR code — you'll need it for entry.
- Group bookings: if you buy multiple tickets and enter other guests' details, you confirm you have their permission to share those details with us and the organiser.
2. Your Australian Consumer Law rights
Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. If a service is not provided with due care and skill, or an event is cancelled or materially changed (for example, a significantly different event than advertised), you may be entitled to a refund or other remedy. The rest of these terms operate subject to those rights.
3. Change of mind
Tickets are generally non-refundable and non-exchangeable for change of mind — for example, if you can no longer attend. This does not affect your ACL rights in section 2. Where an organiser chooses to offer an exchange, credit or refund as a goodwill gesture, any such offer is at the organiser's discretion and on the terms they set.
4. Cancelled, rescheduled or materially changed events
- Cancelled: if an event is cancelled, you're entitled to a refund of the ticket price (fees may be handled as required by law / the ticketing platform's rules). We'll let you know how the refund will be made.
- Rescheduled: if an event is moved to a new date, your ticket is normally valid for the new date. If you can't attend the new date, you may request a refund where required by law.
- Materially changed: if the event changes so significantly that it's not what was advertised, your ACL rights in section 2 apply.
Refunds are usually made to your original payment method. Processing times depend on the payment provider and platform.
5. Who is responsible
Where an event is run by an organiser using the Services, the organiser is responsible for the event, and refund decisions beyond your ACL rights may be the organiser's. Where we are the seller/organiser, we're responsible. Where a third-party ticketing platform handles the sale, that platform's ticketing terms may also apply.
6. Entry, conduct and age restrictions
- Entry may require a valid ticket and, for age-restricted events, proof of age.
- Organisers and venues may refuse entry or remove attendees for unsafe, unlawful or disruptive behaviour, consistent with the law and their venue policies.
- Some events are recorded (audio/photo/video). By attending, you acknowledge you may appear in recordings used to promote events (see our Privacy Policy and Performer Image & Content Release). If you don't want to appear, speak to venue staff or contact us.
7. Resale
Tickets are for personal use. Reselling tickets above face value, or in breach of any anti-scalping law or the ticketing platform's rules, may void the ticket.
8. Problems and contact
If something's wrong with your order or an event, contact us at hello@gigpigs.app with your order details and we'll help. For payment disputes, contact us before raising a chargeback so we can resolve it faster.
