Data & Account Deletion
Effective date: 15 July 2026
Provider: GigPigs Pty Ltd, trading as iD Comedy, Stand Up Sydney and GigPigs, and operator of The Comedy (thecomedy.com.au) and Live Stand Up Comedy (livestandupcomedy.com).
This page explains how to delete your account and personal data from the GigPigs / Stand Up Sydney / iD Comedy / The Comedy / Live Stand Up Comedy Services, what happens when you do, and what we may need to keep. It satisfies the data-deletion requirements of the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Meta.
> This page doubles as the Meta "Data Deletion" URL and the destination for the mobile app's in-app "Delete account" flow.
How to delete your account and data
Option A — In the app / on the web (fastest)
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. Your account is scheduled for deletion immediately.
Option B — By request
Email hello@gigpigs.app from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask a question or two to verify it's really you before we act.
Option C — Meta-initiated (for Facebook/Instagram-linked data)
If you interacted with us via a Meta login or a data connection and want that data removed, you can use the deletion instructions here or email hello@gigpigs.app. We'll process it the same way.
What gets deleted
When your deletion request is processed we delete or de-identify the personal information linked to your account, including:
- your profile, bio, photos/headshots and contact details;
- your saved preferences and marketing subscriptions;
- your messages and in-platform activity;
- for performers, your directory/EPK profile and any performer-provided materials tied to your account.
What we may keep (and why)
Some records must be retained for a limited time even after deletion, because the law or our legitimate needs require it:
- Transaction & tax records — order and payment records are kept for the period required under Australian tax law. These are held in a restricted form for accounting and are not used to contact you.
- Records we need to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or meet a legal obligation — kept only as long as necessary.
- De-identified or aggregated data — data that no longer identifies you may be retained for analytics.
- Published event history — where you appeared on a public event lineup or a show record, that historical record may remain, but we'll remove your contact and account details.
- Performance footage/clips — footage is handled under the Performer Image & Content Release; deleting your account doesn't automatically recall clips already published or licensed, but you can ask us to stop future use and to remove clips where reasonable.
- Backups — residual copies may persist in secure backups for a short period before they're overwritten on our normal backup cycle.
Timing
We action deletion requests within 30 days. Backup copies are purged on our normal rotation (typically within a further 90 days). If we can't fully delete something because the law requires us to keep it, we'll tell you what and why.
If you're a ticket buyer only
You don't need an account to have bought a ticket. To have your buyer details removed, email hello@gigpigs.app with the order email address. Note the retention rules above (tax records, event history) still apply.
Third parties
Deleting your account with us doesn't automatically delete data held by third parties you also dealt with — for example a ticketing platform (Humanitix, Eventbrite), a payment provider, or an organiser who received an attendee list. Contact them directly, or ask us and we'll point you the right way.
